How to do the testing for normal atmospheric condition
I got crazy and was doing the testing of physics laws, objects tend to fall at same rate due to gravity irrespective of mass when made to fall in vacuum. I tested with a plate and two balls of different mass, and all fell at the same rate. How do I bring in the atmospheric condition inside this model...

Force value from a Physics Engine
Hello all I got a small query with the force calculated. When my simulation time step is 10ms, the Physics engine runs for 2 times between these time step as per the tutorial. Now each time the force applied is maximum(ref.callback script) and when we request joint force, it returns the actual force...

Re: Real time position control to induce artificial braking
Is there an API function to put a check on how near to the target position is our joint?

Re: Real time position control to induce artificial braking
Thank You for your reply. I would also like to induce the brake based on the position control. For eg. I set a target position. Then I track the position and when it reaches near the target position, I would like to bring in this loop into control, to induce artificial braking. I am not using a mobi...

Real time position control to induce artificial braking
Hello All When we look into V-Rep while simulating a joint in torque mode, the max torque is applied and the body id moved. mean time, we see a negative torque applied to adjust the position with max velocity. When the body is nearing the target position, a max negative torque is applied and the bod...

Re: Modelling Balancer in V-Rep
Hello Thank you fro your reply I hope this picture explains better http://imageshack.com/a/img673/5361/9DXFuG.jpg Body 1 is rotated around z axis and body 2 linked to body 1 is rotated around the axis perpendicular to z-axis. Now when the body2 rotates clockwise, I need the spring to be expanded wit...

Re: Modelling Balancer in V-Rep
Hello All i have a small update Using the reciprocating joint, I am able to bring in the spring. I was also able to note down the force acting on the spring. My spring has an initial force, so that the expansion adds up to the initial force. I need to set up a spring with initial force and the given...

Modelling Balancer in V-Rep
Hello All I am interested in modelling a balancer unit of an Industrial Robot in V-Rep. This balancer unit is a spring mechanism. When the body is moved away from home by motor, this spring expands, inducing more torque on motor. When it returns, the motor effect is almost nil as it returns with the...

Query with SimGetJointForce
Hello all I have a query with the above command. I have a joint with max torque 15000. Thus, when the joint is moved to new position, I get the force for each time step as mentioned in picture. Why does there is a direction change when the force is acting on the same direction. There is no retractio...

Regarding the V-Rep Beta 3.2.2
Hello I have asked regarding the physical parameters of the shapes in V-Rep. I was told, it will be automatically assigned in version 3.2.2. I would like to know, whether the parameters will be set automatically when the shapes are imported in V-Rep or can I ask the system to modify for my current m...
