Hi Coppelia thanks for the response
I unfortunately overwrote the previous file when I assumed it wasn't something I could do in V-REP, so I am not sure which of the problems it was.
If there is a demo scene with such a functional door please let me know what its called.

Re: Door Handles/ Door Knobs
Tried swapping out the phantom hand with a barrett hand, get somewhat ok results with picking up a cube. Now I'm trying to pull a door open by attaching a cylinder to the door (i have tried both revolute/ prismatic joint) and pulling the cylinder. The door is on a revolute hinge. Unfortunately pulli...

Re: Door Handles/ Door Knobs
Tried setting texture on both the gripper and shape (now changed to a cube) to 'high friction', and i can sort of move the cube around by sliding it across the floor now, but if i try to pick it up the gripper just lets it go. Have tried various values of gripper joint to close it more/less and the ...

Re: Door Handles/ Door Knobs
After experimenting with a few things, it looks like I can test for the rotation of a door knob and then set a flag allowing for the rotation of the door joint, or not allowing otherwise. I have a new problem now, when trying to get the PhantomXPincher to grasp onto a cylinder and pull on it, it jus...

Re: Using ROS plugin under Windows?
I also tried just using the precompiled library and just directly compiling the plugin, but it seems there is a difference between win_ros building and catkin building. I confirmed by trying to build the simple test program for ROS here http://wiki.ros.org/catkin/Tutorials/CreatingPackage but i get ...

Re: Using ROS plugin under Windows?
To do it completely by the book i used the precompiled libs and VC2010 Express, with 32bit python. All seems to go ok until the linking stage and I get this linking error involving boost. However I have extracted boost libs to the correct place. Currently Stuck. rospack.cpp.obj : error LNK2019: unre...

Re: Using ROS plugin under Windows?
Attempting this myself, not sure how far I'll get but I'll log the steps involved in case someone else wants to follow. 1. Downloaded and installed everything here http://wiki.ros.org/win_ros/hydro/Msvc%20Compiled%20SDK 2. Confirmed roscore works and the test listener/broadcaster works 3.[Not requir...

I have the same setup (ROS on a virtualbox running Ubuntu, main OS windows). Did you make any progress on this?
