Re: RosInterface stops publishing after restart of simulation
Just to clarify my hypothesis: 1) An external ROS node (ie. outside V-REP) asks ROSCORE for the IP address and port of a V-REP ROS node. It gets an answer and connects, to, say, port 10000 on V-REP. 2) The simulation stops. The external nodes are still connected to 10000. 3) The simulation restarts....

Re: RosInterface stops publishing after restart of simulation
I can confirm this behaviour is still present in October 2019. It's true that a brand new ROS subscriber outside V-REP will get the messages instantly, whereas existing ROS subscribers may receive nothing for 30 seconds or more. Shutting down all internal subscribers and publishers from the Lua scri...

Re: Do heightfields work with the Newton engine?
Hi!
It works, thanks! I was still on 3.6.1. Upgrading fixed the issue.
Best,
Simon

Re: Do heightfields work with the Newton engine?
Hi, I downloaded the binary (for Ubuntu 16.04), overwrote the old one and added execution permission. Now when I select Newton as the engine I get the following message: The physics engine currently selected is not supported (you might be missing a required plugin). Simulation will not run correctly...

Do heightfields work with the Newton engine?
Hi, If I start with a new scene, import a heightfield from a BMP and then add a dynamic sphere above it, then the sphere falls, bounces and rolls around as you would expect. This is with Bullet 2.78 selected as the physics engine. Now switch to Newton. The ball falls right through the heightfield. Y...

Re: How do I stop my robot bouncing off the floor?
I think I've solved this by myself. Some links were outside the main robot model and under the floor. I guess there were some weird collisions going on. Thanks!

How do I stop my robot bouncing off the floor?
Hi, I'm working on a robot simulation and advancing nicely, but I have persistent problems with the robot bouncing off the floor and other objects and zooming off into the void. I've tried adjusting mass, inertia and so on, straying ever further from the real values (it's based on a real, physical r...

V-REP crashes on Mac OSX 10.14.3 during tutorial
Hi, I've done a fresh install of the EDU edition on my MacBook Pro (15-inch 2016) and it crashes every time at the same point in the bubbleRob tutorial at http://www.coppeliarobotics.com/helpFiles/en/bubbleRobTutorial.htm I've just set 90 on Around Y and Around Z on the Rotation tab for the Cone Sen...
