Visualize Inertia arrow/indicator

Post by qiushi.ji »

Good morning Admin,

i have two question about Inertia of an object / some grouped objects. I just ask the first one about the arrow of the inertia, which could be switched on via "Visualize Inertias" in View Function.

Image

What I've understood the length of red arrow should be simply proportional to the mass of an object. Why here a 56kg object has a longer inertia arrow than an 173kg object? At the same time the rest components in the scene show correctly with their masses.

Otherwise, what means the red arrow and purple block exactly?

Cheers,
Ji

Hello Ji,

when visualizing an inertia, the length of the red arrows doesn't mean anything.
The purple wireframe box size (or rather volume) is proportional to the mass of the object.
The red wireframe rectangle is supposed to represent the inertia distribution.

Cheers
