Kinect model in vrep

Post by ljklonepiece »

Hi Marc,

I was wondering what the underlying rendering method or model you are using to simulate the kinect point cloud of the scene.

How accurate is the kinect model? If there is noise added into the kinect, what is the noise model for kinect you are using?

Those questions are important to me since I want to simulate the rendering of kinect by considering noise model, which could be learnt from real data.

Your help and time is much appreciated!

Yours sincerely,
Juekun

Hello Juekun,

the fully simulated kinect models (i.e. in the Models/components/sensors folder) are ideal, meaning that you will have to add your own noise model, on top of the reading.

Cheers
