Ultrasonic in VREP vs. Real Ultrasonic sensor

Hello,

I am using Ultrasonic sensor in V-REP.
If wall is in front of sensor, then Ultrasonic sensor can detect it.
Because emitted sound wave and reflected sound wave are fly totoally opposite.
(Sensor axis and Wall are perpendicular)

In real world,
if wall and sensor axis are not perpendicular, like 160degree, then can't detect wall.

When I test Ultrasonic sensor in V-REP, this sensor can detect in all situation.
There is some option to simulate like real world?

Ultrasonic sensor shouldn't detect wall(obstacle), if sensor see wall oblique.

Thank you.

Hello,

yes, you can do this. In the proximity sensor properties, click Adjust detection parameters, then check Limited angle detection.

Cheers
